Fresh Strawberry Bars

I just found this recipe in a Better Homes and Gardens magazine. I saw it and it looked way yummy to me. I looked at the recipe and realized that I happened to have all the ingredients for it. So Keagan (my almost three-year-old) and I made it and we LOVE it. I hope you enjoy also.

3/4 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup peanut butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 cup flour
strawberry jam
strawberries
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Line 13 x 9 inch baking pan with foil, extending the foil beyond the sides.
In a large mixing bowl beat butter and peanut butter on medium to high for 30 seconds. Beat in sugar, baking powder and salt until combined. Add eggs and vanilla; beat until combined. Beat in as much flour as you can with mixer the stir in the remaining flour.
Spread dough into prepared pan. Bake 25 minutes or until top is lightly browned and it tests done with a toothpick (mine took more like 30 - 35 minutes to cook). Cool completely then serve with jam and strawberries.
Note: The recipe says you can cut into individual portions, freeze and then pull out, thaw and top with jam and berries for a last minute dessert, but I don't have the willpower to do that. Also, I think you could do this with lots of combinations of jam and fruit.
