I remember when Grandma Smith used to make this. It was one of my favorite treats. In fact, when I would be getting ready to go to girls camp or on a trip, she would make a batch and give me a bag full to take along.
4 quarts popped pop-corn
1 1/3 cups pecans
2/3 cup slivered almonds
1 1/3 cup sugar
1 cup margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup Karo syrup
Mix popcorn and nuts; set aside. Boil sugar, syrup, margarine and vanilla till softball stage (10-15 minutes). Pour over popcorn mixture and stir.
